1.1 SUMMARY

A. Section Includes: Specific work requiring testing, testing requirements, testing services and Contractors and Owner's responsibilities.

1.2 OWNER'S RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Selection and Payment:

1. Owner secures services of an independent testing agency and pays for these services except when nonconforming or defective work requires retesting or special testing.

2. Inspection and testing costs required by defective work, improperly timed notices or unreasonable standby time for testing agency inspector or additional travel paid by Contractor by deductive change order.

3. Provide Contractors and Architect with name of testing agency promptly after award of subcontractors of contract.

1.3 CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Coordinate with testing agency personnel in taking tests, inspection of welds and other required duties.

B. Notify testing agency in ample time for their required job site services.

C. Employment of testing agency by Owner in no way relieves Contractor of obligation to perform work in accordance with Contract Documents.

1.4 TESTING AGENCY'S RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Provide test reports to Owner, Contractor and Architect in an expeditious manner. Notify Owner and Architect within 24 hours if additional costs are incurred due to paragraph 1.2.A.2 above.

B. Testing agency personnel not authorized to revise contract requirements.
